I've Shown You Mine, Now Show Me Yours, Part III.

The call to Show Me Your Writing Desk continues, and our latest examples include a writing area suitable for vampires, a mysteriously floating desk, and a writing space rich with bulletin board inspiration. Here are three contrasting examples of the desks of working writers:

Left: The light-tight writing space of Clem Bastow, a Melbourne-based writer/broadcaster for The Age, Inpress, The Vine and The Big Issue, among others. It is worth noting that this image was taken during the day. 'I seem to have become addicted to eternal moonlight,' she admits.

Middle: The leg-less 'floating' desk of screenwriter Morgan Christie. 'My girl’s a wall mounted sewing desk from 1912...The tabletop swings over 180° and all my technology is built into a custom compartment underneath. Every now and again I’ll find a rusty seamstress pin in one of her drawers, some disintegrating thread or a lock of hair...'

Right: The writing desk of Maggie Alderson, editor, columnist and author of five novels including How To Break Your Own Heart and Mad About the Boy. Her colorful bulletin board is bursting with images and inspiration.

Quid pro quo. We've shown you ours, now show us yours, and I'll continue to post the best on The Book Post..

Go on, show us where you write.

Happy reading,
